The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has adjusted the bail conditions imposed on Abayomi Oluwasesan and his wife, who are accused of embezzling $87 million from the online crypto platform Afriq Arbitrage.
The judge approved the request made by the defendants’ counsel to modify the bail conditions.
The revised conditions now stipulate that the two sureties must own properties in the FCT, without specifying Maitama as the location, while the bail bond was reduced to N400 million.
Additionally, the court has scheduled the commencement of a speedy trial for the case on May 14. In the interim, the accused individuals have been remanded in the Suleja Correctional Centre until they fulfill the adjusted bail conditions.
