The defining moment came as defender Hummels found the net early in the second half at the Parc des Princes, sealing Dortmund’s triumph with a 1-0 win (2-0 on aggregate) over PSG. Despite the home side’s relentless efforts, including hitting the woodwork four times, Dortmund held firm to clinch their place in the final.

Sancho, visibly elated by the victory, took to Instagram to share his excitement, posting a celebratory message alongside a team photo. “Champions League Final! Wow wow wow, Unbelievable! @bvb09 WEMBLEY HERE WE COME!”

In the aftermath of the game, former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand weighed in on Sancho’s future, suggesting that the winger may only consider a return to Old Trafford if manager Erik ten Hag departs at the end of the season. Sancho’s strained relationship with Ten Hag led to his return to Dortmund in January after his move to United in 2021.

Ferdinand commented, “I think the only way he goes back to Manchester United is if Erik ten Hag isn’t there. I don’t think they can undermine the manager and let a player not apologize and then bring him back.”

Dortmund’s unexpected journey to the final, despite their underdog status, has captivated football enthusiasts. With a fifth-place standing in the Bundesliga, Dortmund’s resilience has defied expectations.
