Solidarity Visit: Dawakin Tofa Ward Executives to Meet APC National Secretariat Today
Written by Deborah Oyinloye on April 17, 2024
In a show of solidarity, the ward executives of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area in Kano State, where Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was recently suspended, are set to visit him. The visit is scheduled to occur today at the APC national secretariat at 11:00 am.
This move follows the suspension of Ganduje by the ward’s Legal Adviser, Halliru Gwanzo, citing bribery allegations and the impending legal actions against Ganduje by the Kano State government. Gwanzo emphasized the decision was made in light of the bribery charges and Ganduje’s scheduled arraignment on Thursday.
However, the suspension imposed by Gwanzo was overturned by the Kano state leadership of the APC. Instead, they issued a six-month suspension to Gwanzo and some other party leaders implicated at the ward level.
The solidarity visit highlights the ongoing internal dynamics within the APC, particularly in Kano State, amidst the bribery allegations against Ganduje and the subsequent disciplinary actions taken by the party’s leadership.
