Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have arrived in Lagos as part of their three-day visit to Nigeria. Their agenda includes a meeting with Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at Lagos House in Marina.
Their visit to Nigeria is part of their efforts to promote the Invictus Games, a sporting event Prince Harry founded for wounded military veterans. In Lagos, they were guests of the Giant of Africa Foundation at the Dream Big Basketball clinic held at Ilupeju Grammar School.
Masai Ujiri, President of the Giant of Africa Foundation, praised the royal couple for inspiring African youth through sports. The couple expressed their joy in participating in programs aimed at empowering young people in Africa.
During their visit to Abuja, Prince Harry’s team played an exhibition seated volleyball match against a team led by Nigeria’s chief of defence staff. Despite taking an early lead, they were defeated by the commander’s squad.
Later, the couple attended a reception for military families, where they were greeted by traditional dancers who showcased acrobatic performances.
