Police Alert Abuja Residents on Crisis Response Drill

The Nigeria Police Force has issued a public notice regarding a crisis response simulation exercise scheduled for Thursday, November 28, 2024.
According to Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the drill will take place at the Idu Train Station in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) between 9 am and 2 pm. It is organized in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) as part of the Federal Government’s initiative to strengthen the capacity of security forces to handle emergencies.
The statement highlighted
“In furtherance of efforts in combating all forms of crimes and criminality in Nigeria, the Federal Government has initiated a joint operation and training exercise to prepare security forces to respond appropriately and adequately to security threats in Nigeria.”
The police emphasized that the drill is safe and poses no danger to the public, assuring residents that it is purely a preparedness measure to test and enhance the emergency response capabilities of security agencies.
Residents are advised to remain calm during the exercise and not to interpret the activities as an actual security threat.
