Nigeria Faces Japan in U-20 Women’s World Cup Round of 16

The Nigerian Falconets will face Japan in the round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia. The Nigerian team advanced from their group with victories over South Korea and Venezuela, despite a 3-1 defeat to Germany.
Japan, one of the tournament’s top contenders, has impressed with their strong performance, scoring 13 goals and conceding only once in the group stages. Their dominant wins include a 7-0 thrashing of New Zealand, a 4-1 victory over Ghana, and a 2-0 win against Austria.
Nigeria secured a narrow 1-0 win against South Korea, suffered a loss to Germany, and delivered a convincing 4-0 victory over Venezuela.
The match between Nigeria and Japan is scheduled for Friday, September 13, 2024.
