A tragic altercation between two cousins in Lagos on Monday led to the death of Afeez Akeem after he was allegedly stabbed by his cousin, Ganiyu Ibrahim, during a heated argument.
According to the Lagos State Police Command, the incident occurred around 7 a.m. and escalated when Ganiyu reportedly broke a bottle and stabbed Afeez in the chest. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Afeez was pronounced dead.
The family chose to forgo an autopsy and buried Afeez according to Islamic customs. Meanwhile, police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed that the suspect, Ganiyu, is on the run, and efforts are underway to apprehend him.
This incident follows a separate case in Lagos earlier this month, where a 25-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing his father during a domestic dispute.
