Government Announces Two-Day Traffic Diversion on Lagos Road

The Lagos State Government has announced a traffic diversion on the Gbagada-Oworonshoki Expressway, affecting the stretch from Alapere-Ogudu-Car Wash to Iyana Oworo inward Anthony/Oshodi. The diversion, which began early Saturday, will last until Sunday evening.
Bolanle Ogunlola, Deputy Director of Public Affairs for the Ministry of Transportation, explained that the diversion is due to an “exigent situation,” although specific details were not provided.
“The Lagos State Government has announced that traffic will be diverted along the Gbagada-Oworonshoki Expressway, from Alapere-Ogudu-Car Wash and Iyana Oworo inward Anthony/Oshodi from 6am tomorrow, Saturday, May 25 till Sunday evening, May 26, 2024, due to exigent situation,” the statement read.
Alternative Routes
Motorists from Ram Seller area beside Gbagada General Hospital: Divert to Diya Street through New Garage by Jolad Hospital, accessing Gbagada Phase 2 via Pedro Road to link Ikorodu Road.
Motorists from Old Toll Gate/Ketu: Use Ikorodu Road to connect Anthony.
Motorists from Lagos Island via Third Mainland Bridge:** Divert to Adekunle and Herbert Macaulay to access Anthony/Oshodi through Jibowu on Ikorodu Road.
Motorists are urged to be patient and cooperate with Traffic Management Personnel to ease their movements during this period. The repair work is scheduled to conclude by Sunday evening.
