Interviewer: Kindly introduce yourself.

Oluwatunmishe: My name is Oluwatunmishe Precious Ogunniyi. I am a native of Kwara State, but currently residing in Ikorodu, Lagos state. I am a 400-level student of Computer science at Caleb University. Born into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Tumininu Ogunniyi, an engineer and a trader, respectively, I have two siblings, Praise and Patience. I love cycling, and also look forward to exploring volleyball after my BSc degree.

Interviewer: How did you earn the honour of being the ONE-day VC?

Oluwatunmishe: I can’t exactly say how I earned this because I wasn’t there during the screening process. But I believe it’s a a result of my exceptional act of service, and diligence in whatever task, business or assignment I’m given.

Interviewer: What were your experiences as the ONE-day VC?

Oluwatunmishe: My experience sitting on the hot seat came with a very huge honour. I was celebrated, blessed, and honoured. It is indeed an honour for me to see things from a different perspective, not just as a student, but as one of the authorities in the institution.

Interviewer: What were the privileges you enjoyed as the ONE-day VC?

Oluwatunmishe: I enjoyed a lot of privileges, from the pick-up at my hostel, to the meals, and networking opportunities I had. Meeting with the guest minister and the Chairperson, was a particuarly enriching experience.

Interviewer: What change would you like to effect in Caleb University if given an opportunity?

Oluwatunmishe: I aim to ensure that all graduating students discover their God’s given purpose, and are on their path to achievement, aligning with the school’s mission to shape leaders of tomorrow.

Interviewer: What is TEACHenGIG?

Oluwatunmishe: TEACHenGIG is an online platform that connects quality schools to quality teachers. It serves as a bridge between schools with job vacancies and teachers seeking employment.

Interviewer: What remarkable thing did you do today in the school?

Oluwatunmishe: I proposed a scheme of foundation to support students and young individuals in Caleb University who have mind-blowing innovative ideas, and creativity in business and entrepreneurship. This system will emphasize the need to ensure the idea can shape or change society positively.

Interviewer: What will be the criteria for the student’s loan?

Oluwatunmishe: The criteria are still being deliberated on, but one of the terms and conditions will definitely be a successful result in school as a graduate.

Interviewer: How have you been able to balance academics and school fellowship?

Oluwatunmishe: Achieving balance involves understanding oneself, prioritizing time effectively between commitments such as church work and academics, and building a supportive network of friends and mentors. Moreover, balancing academics and fellowship comes with the understanding that these parties shouldn’t be conflicting, but complementing.

Interviewer: What has been your achievements so far as a student?

Oluwatunmishe: In the past two years, I accomplished a lot, from being recognized for my dedication in the chapel to taking on leadership roles in various campus organizations, ultimately leading to my recent appointment as the One-day Vice-Chancellor.

Interviewer: How do you spend your leisure?

Oluwatunmishe: Usually, I rest during my leisure time, listening to spiritually uplifting sermons, and motivational messages.

Interviewer: How do you manage distractions?

Oluwatunmishe: To manage distractions, I’ve learned that they are inevitable, but as I achieve more, some distractions naturally fade away; prayer, guidance from mentors, and following the wisdom of God have been crucial in staying focused, while setting restrictions on phone and social media use serves as effective preventive measures.

Interviewer: What inspires you?

Oluwatunmishe: My daily inspiration comes from knowing that my purpose is given by God, not man; I work hard, inspired by my diligent parents, mentors, and busy yet accomplished figures like Bishop Oyedepo, as well as fellow young individuals, motivating me to strive for excellence in 2024.

Interviewer: What’s your advice for the youths?

Oluwatunmishe:

My advice to young people is to work hard and be diligent in whatever they do, as it opens doors for success, just as Proverbs 22:29 says. Diligence in one’s business leads to standing before kings, which I’ve experienced in my own life.

Interviewer: Who do you see yourself becoming?

Oluwatunmishe: I’ll like to be a minister of God’s word in power and simplicity, with social impact in the tech space.

Thank You!
