Elizade University Lecturer Named Olosi of Osi-Ekiti

A distinguished figure in journalism, law, public relations, and academia, Prince Babatunde Stephen Adegboyega Alabi, has been selected as the Olosi of Osi-Ekiti in Ido-Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
His emergence followed an extensive and traditional process, witnessed by a significant gathering of locals, Ekiti State Government officials, and traditional rulers in Ido-Osi LGA. The Afobaje officially pronounced him as the chosen Oba, as decreed by the gods of the land on Sunday.
Prince Babatunde Stephen Adegboyega Alabi belongs to the Arubiojo Ruling House of Osi-Ekiti. He enjoyed a distinguished career at NTA, Akure, where he retired as the News and Sports Editor. He also served as the National President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) and is renowned as a legal practitioner. Additionally, he imparts legal knowledge as a lecturer at Elizade University.
The Odofin of Osi-Ekiti and leader of the kingmakers confirmed the divine selection, emphasizing the unanimous agreement among the kingmakers in choosing the new Oba. He extended his wishes for a prosperous and enduring reign to the Olosi-elect.
The necessary administrative procedures for the selection have been initiated for approval by the Ekiti State Government. The community has expressed jubilation over the divine choice, offering their heartfelt well-wishes to the Oba-elect.
Chairman of Ido-Osi LG, Hon Bamidele Adetiloye Omoleye, affirmed that the selection process adhered to governmental protocols. He congratulated the people of Osi-Ekiti on the seamless exercise and extended his best wishes to the incoming Oba.’
