Deeper Life High School Celebrates 174 Students with UTME Scores Exceeding 300

The management of Deeper Life High School took to social media to proudly showcase the remarkable achievement of 174 students who excelled in this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), scoring 300 marks and above.

In a Facebook post shared on Friday, May 10, 2024, the school announced that these exceptional students scored between 300 and 362 marks out of a possible 400. The achievement is particularly noteworthy considering JAMB’s announcement that only approximately 0.5% of candidates nationwide scored 300 and above in the 2024 UTME.

The school expressed its pride, stating, “Despite JAMB’s announcement that only around 0.5% of candidates nationwide scored 300 and above in the 2024 UTME, an astounding one hundred and seventy-four (174) students of DLHS exceeded expectations with flying colours by scoring 300 and above.”

Accompanying the announcement, the school shared a video celebrating the UTME heroes and heroines, showcasing the impressive accomplishment of the 174 students. Among them, Ayeyemi Godsgift Ibukunoluwa emerged as this year’s highest scorer, achieving a remarkable total score of 362 out of 400 marks.

The announcement comes after the release of the 2024 UTME results by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on April 29. Out of 1,842,464 candidates, 1,402,490 failed to score 200 marks out of 400. However, JAMB decided not to disclose the names of the highest-scoring candidates, emphasizing the examination’s role as a ranking system for admission purposes.

The statement by JAMB underscored the complexities involved in determining the highest scorers due to varying admission criteria across institutions. Despite this, Deeper Life High School’s celebration of its students’ outstanding performance serves as a testament to their dedication and academic excellence.
