Bauchi State Adjusts Civil Servants’ Closing Hours for Ramadan, Sokoto Announces Ramadan Gift

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has sanctioned a modification in the closing hours for civil servants during the Ramadan fasting period. According to an announcement by the Overseeing Director, Establishments for Head of Civil Service, Isma’il Ibn Garam, civil servants will conclude their workdays at 3 pm from Mondays to Thursdays, and at 1 pm on Fridays, effective for the duration of Ramadan. This adjustment aims to facilitate Muslim civil servants’ participation in religious observances.
Governor Mohammed emphasized the importance of supporting Muslim civil servants in observing the sacred practices of Ramadan and encouraged them to utilize the holy month for prayer and spiritual growth, with hopes for the prosperity and advancement of Bauchi State and the nation at large.
In a similar vein, Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Sokoto, has announced a special Ramadan gift for civil servants, including primary school teachers, local government staff, and pensioners. The governor approved the payment of half-salary to assist workers in comfortably observing the fasting period. This gesture reflects Governor Sokoto’s commitment to ensuring that Muslims in the state begin Ramadan with ease.
Governor Sokoto urged the Muslim community to utilize the sacred month for prayer and reflection, seeking divine intervention in addressing the challenges facing Nigeria’s development. He also called upon individuals and organizations, particularly traders and the affluent, to extend acts of kindness and compassion to the less fortunate, embodying the spirit of generosity and mercy characteristic of Ramadan.
