Tito Jackson, Jackson 5 Legend, Dies at 70

Tito Jackson, a founding member of the Jackson 5 and older brother to Michael and Janet Jackson, has passed away at age 70. His sons, Taj, Taryll, and TJ, confirmed his death on Instagram, expressing their heartbreak “We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being.”
Family friend Steve Manning reported that Tito suffered an apparent heart attack while driving home to Oklahoma. Tito had recently performed with his brothers Marlon and Jackie as The Jacksons.
As part of the iconic Jackson 5, Tito helped shape global music with hits like “I Want You Back” and “ABC.” Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, Tito also found solo success, releasing his blues album Under Your Spell in 2021.
He is survived by his three sons.
