Hashimu Dungurawa, the chairman of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) in Kano State, has expressed dissatisfaction with the administration of former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, stating that the people of Kano did not enjoy his tenure.
Ganduje, who governed Kano State from 2015 to 2023 under the All Progressives Congress (APC), faced criticism from the NNPP, which emerged victorious in the 2023 governorship election with the election of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
During a news conference on Thursday, Dungurawa urged Nigerians to anticipate the 2027 general election and support NNPP’s presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
“I am praying Nigerians will vote for the NNPP Presidential candidate who is no other person than Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso,” Dungurawa stated. He also encouraged Kano residents to prepare to vote wisely, highlighting the achievements of Governor Yusuf’s administration.
Dungurawa pledged five million votes for Governor Yusuf in the 2027 gubernatorial election and urged women and youth to support the NNPP and vote for Kwankwaso for the presidency.
Highlighting Governor Yusuf’s achievements in just one year in office, Dungurawa emphasized the party’s confidence in his re-election in 2027. He praised Yusuf’s efforts in various sectors including economy, education, health, and infrastructure.
The NNPP chairman criticized Ganduje’s administration, asserting that the people of Kano were dissatisfied with his governance, leading to their rejection of his party in the 2023 election.
Dungurawa assured the people of Kano that Governor Yusuf’s administration would continue to prioritize human development and execute more projects for the betterment of the state.
