Osun Monarch Throws Support Behind Ajao Samson’s Guinness World Record Attempt

In a show of solidarity, the Elerinmo of Erinmo Ijesaland in Osun State, Oba Micheal Ajayi, has pledged his support to Ajao Samson, also known as Impeccable, as he endeavours to break the Guinness World Record for the longest reading marathon.
Samson, a former Students’ Union President of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, commenced a 214-hour Read-a-Thon at Adolak Conference Hall in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, on Monday, May 6, with the event slated to conclude on May 14, 2024.
Joining in the demonstration of support, Ngozi Adeleke, the wife of the Governor of Osun State, and Chief Johnson Oyedele, the Coordinator of Imole Youth Corps from the Osun State Ministry of Youth Affairs, also paid visits to Ajao to provide their encouragement.
The current Guinness World Record for the longest marathon reading aloud stands at 124 hours, achieved by Rysbai Isakov of Kyrgyzstan in Bursa, Turkey, from September 22 to 27, 2022. Isakov’s remarkable feat involved reading the “Manas epic,” a cherished tale of a 10th-century Kyrgyz hero, which holds profound cultural and spiritual significance for the Kyrgyz people.
