Pastor Mike Bamiloye Criticizes Divisions Among Christians Over Trump Support
Written by Jerry Alomatu on November 8, 2024
Pastor Mike Bamiloye, founder of Mount Zion Faith Ministries, has expressed dismay over divisions among Christians, particularly in the U.S., regarding support for President-elect Donald Trump. Taking to social media, Bamiloye questioned why Christians appear conflicted over backing a leader he believes supports Christian values.
In a video post featuring Trump discussing his love for Christ and moral values, Bamiloye highlighted that Trump’s party aligns with Christian principles, while claiming the opposition endorses policies like abortion and same-sex marriage. He voiced surprise at Christians’ hesitation, stating, “What is confusing in the options?”
Trump’s statements in the video included, “Our country needs a saviour… that is Jesus,” which sparked online debate and reactions from Christians worldwide. Some, like Lekan Awe, called for consistency, pointing out Trump’s controversial remarks about Africa, while others, such as Jacob Aderounmu, saw his victory as divine justification.
Nigerian Christians also reflected on their leaders’ silence during pivotal moments, urging more definitive stands on moral and faith-aligned choices.
