Ekiti Governor Appoints Justice Lekan Ogunmoye as Acting Chief Judge

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has appointed Justice Lekan Ogunmoye as the Acting Chief Judge of the state, following the passing of Hon. Justice Oyewole Adeyeye.
The appointment, which takes effect from November 5, 2024, was disclosed by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Olayinka Oyebode, in a statement released on Tuesday evening.
This move is in line with Section 271(4) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
Justice Ogunmoye, born on November 6, 1963, was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1987 and was appointed as a judge in 2010.
Governor Oyebanji expressed his best wishes for a successful tenure for the newly appointed Acting Chief Judge.
The late Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Adeyeye, passed away on Monday after a brief illness. The Chief Registrar of the Ekiti State Judiciary, Olanike Adegoke, paid tribute to him, highlighting his dedication to fairness, equity, and justice throughout his career.
