President Bola Tinubu has taken significant steps to reorganize his administration, dismissing five ministers as part of a broader effort to enhance government efficiency. This decision, revealed on Wednesday, was shared in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Social Media, Dada Olusegun.
The statement outlined eight strategic actions aimed at improving the administration’s functionality. Among these are the renaming of the Ministry of Nigeria Delta Development to the Ministry of Regional Development, which will oversee all regional development commissions. It also included the transfer of sports-related responsibilities to the National Sports Commission and the merger of the Federal Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Arts and Culture, forming a new body focused on art, culture, tourism, and the creative economy.
Additionally, the President has reassigned ten ministers to new portfolios, nominated seven new ministers for Senate confirmation, and appointed key officials to strategic roles. These changes underscore a commitment to streamlining operations and delivering on promises to the Nigerian people.
The appointments include new leadership roles in foreign affairs, trade and investment, humanitarian affairs, and other crucial sectors, reflecting a concerted effort to realign the administration’s priorities and foster progress.
