Senate President Godswill Akpabio has assured the people of Ekiti State, through the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe, that the 10th Senate is dedicated to advancing development projects in the state.

During a meeting in Abuja with the Ewi-in-Council, Akpabio praised the political office holders from Ekiti State, highlighting their competence and reliability. He commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji, describing him as a man of great promise for Nigeria’s future.

In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Jackson Udom, Akpabio emphasized the Senate’s commitment to Ekiti’s interests, pointing out the appointment of Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, an illustrious son of Ekiti, as the Senate Leader. He assured that requests from Ekiti, particularly concerning road improvements, would be addressed promptly.

“We in the 10th Senate and the National Assembly as a whole, are like a family. The Senate collaborates with the House of Representatives in the overall interest of all Nigerians,” Akpabio stated. He praised the Ekiti monarch for his influential presence and assured that President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda would benefit the people of Ekiti.

Oba Adejugbe thanked Akpabio for receiving him on short notice and commended his leadership in maintaining a harmonious Senate. He invited Akpabio as the Principal Guest of Honor for the 2024 Odun Olorunborun UDIROKO festival and prayed for his continued success.

“The people of Ekiti honor those who serve their communities well. Your achievements as Governor of Akwa Ibom State are well-recognized, and we wish to honor you in Ekiti. We hope you will join us for the festival,” Oba Adejugbe said.
