NiMet Forecasts Three Days of Thunderstorms and Rains Across Nigeria

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted thundery and rainy weather conditions from Monday to Wednesday across various regions of the country.
In a weather outlook released on Sunday, NiMet forecasted morning thunderstorms over parts of Taraba, Adamawa, Zamfara, Kebbi, Katsina, Kano, and Kaduna States. Later in the day, thunderstorms are expected to extend to Taraba, Kaduna, Yobe, Katsina, Kano, Borno, Bauchi, and Jigawa States.
In the North Central region, rains are anticipated over parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Niger, and Nasarawa States during the morning hours. By afternoon and evening, thunderstorms and rains are expected to cover parts of the FCT, Niger, Kwara, Plateau, and Kogi States.
The southern region is also expected to experience morning drizzle and rains over Lagos, Abia, Ebonyi, Ondo, Ogun, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River States. Intermittent rains are forecasted for the entire region later in the day.
On Tuesday, morning thunderstorms are anticipated over Adamawa, Taraba, Kaduna, Gombe, Katsina, Kano, Bauchi, Yobe, Borno, and Jigawa States. Later in the day, thunderstorms will likely affect parts of Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, Bauchi, Yobe, Borno, and Jigawa States.
In North Central Nigeria, morning rains are expected over the FCT, Benue, and Kogi States. Afternoon and evening thunderstorms and rains are forecasted for the FCT, Plateau, Nasarawa, Niger, Kogi, Kwara, and Benue States. The southern region will see morning rains in parts of Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom States, with thunderstorms and intermittent rains predicted for the entire region later in the day.
On Wednesday, NiMet expects morning thunderstorms over Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara States, extending to the entire region by afternoon and evening. In North Central Nigeria, morning rains are anticipated over Niger and Kwara States, followed by thunderstorms and rains later in the day over parts of Plateau, Nasarawa, FCT, Kogi, Kwara, and Benue States.
