In a bid to equip Nigerian youths with essential skills for electronics installation, repairs, general maintenance, and after-sales services, LG, the electronics manufacturing company, has unveiled plans to launch training centers.
This announcement was made during a statement released on Wednesday at a 3-day exhibition organized by Elan Expo in Lagos.
Hari Elluru, the Head of Marketing for LG’s West Africa Operations, highlighted that LG already operates a training academy at the University of Lagos and intends to open another training center for the public next month.
“We have a training academy in the University of Lagos where students are trained on the new technologies and next month, we are planning to open one more training for the general public. We have already identified the space and by next month it will be open. We would be inviting students from the colleges to get trained and once they complete their courses, they can pick up jobs while also having experience with LG.”
Elluru emphasized LG’s commitment to investing in Nigeria, citing the country’s substantial population and growing market for electronics.
Despite the challenges of the operating environment, LG remains optimistic about its prospects in Nigeria, buoyed by the government’s support and the population’s affinity for new technology products.
