Pep Guardiola has clinched the Premier League Manager of the Season award for the fifth time, marking a remarkable achievement after leading Manchester City to their fourth consecutive title.
Under Guardiola’s guidance, Manchester City secured their eighth Premier League title, surpassing Arsenal by a mere two points on the final day of the season. This victory cements Guardiola’s status as one of the elite managers in English football history, with only Alex Ferguson having won more top-flight titles (13) than Guardiola’s six.
Guardiola’s fifth Manager of the Season award places him second only to Ferguson, who boasts 11 such accolades. Previously, Guardiola claimed the award for his successful campaigns in the seasons of 2017-18, 2018-19, 2020-21, and 2022-23.
Acknowledging the competitive field of nominees, Guardiola expressed gratitude for the exceptional contributions of his counterparts. He specifically mentioned Mikel Arteta for his remarkable job at Arsenal, Jurgen Klopp for their memorable battles over the years, Unai Emery for his extraordinary feat with Aston Villa, and Andoni Iraola for his commendable performance with Bournemouth in his debut Premier League season.
