Dangote Refinery Unveils First Petrol Sample

Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, has unveiled the first batch of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) produced at his refinery in the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State. The presentation was made during a broadcast on Tuesday 3rd September 2024.
In his remarks, Dangote expressed gratitude to the people of Nigeria and praised the government of President Bola Tinubu for fostering an environment conducive to growth and development. He specifically acknowledged the introduction of the “Naira for Crude” initiative, highlighting its potential to stabilize the Naira.
“With this refinery operational, we will be able to accurately track Nigeria’s true consumption, monitoring every loaded truck and ship,” Dangote stated. He also emphasized that the refinery’s output is intended to serve not just Nigeria but the broader sub-Saharan Africa region.
