After a gathering in Calabar, Cross Rivers, the APC Congress South-South Zonal Executive released a statement on Sunday, urging President Bola Tinubu to contest for the presidency in the 2027 elections. The communiqué lauded Tinubu’s policies and economic reforms, emphasizing their role in reshaping the nation.

Despite recent challenges such as soaring inflation rates and ongoing debates on minimum wage, the committee expressed support for Tinubu’s leadership and commended his commitment to infrastructure projects like the coastal road initiative.

To foster unity and enhance the party’s influence in the region, the committee announced plans to establish a reconciliation committee led by Sen Bassey Out. Additionally, they pledged to mobilize resources for upcoming elections, with a focus on Edo State.

The statement also highlighted the importance of the APC’s e-registration program, aiming to promote inclusivity and ownership among party members. Finally, the meeting concluded with a vote of confidence in Senate President Sen (Dr) Godswill Akpabio and other party leaders, urging all members to actively contribute to the party’s growth and resurgence in the region.
