Former President Olusegun Obasanjo commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for his efforts to enhance infrastructure development in Osun State, stating that it would attract investment into the region. Speaking at the commissioning of the Government House VIP Lodge in Osogbo, Obasanjo urged the governor to continue fostering peace and tranquility, emphasizing Osun’s reputation as one of the most peaceful states in the country.
Addressing the governor, Obasanjo encouraged him to remain focused on his infrastructure initiatives and not be deterred by criticism, referencing Adeleke’s dancing skills as a symbol of happiness. He highlighted the importance of aligning developmental projects with the desires of the people, asserting that such prioritization would stimulate investment and contribute to the state’s growth and development.
Governor Adeleke, in turn, underscored his commitment to completing projects initiated by previous administrations, regardless of political affiliation. He emphasized the importance of depoliticizing public infrastructure, stating that projects should be executed based on merit rather than partisan interests. Adeleke emphasized the significance of cost efficiency in governance, noting that completing projects like the Government House VIP Lodge contributes to reducing the overall cost of hosting dignitaries and visitors to the state.
